Xingwan Community in SIP’s Loufeng Sub-district recently hosted an event to usher in the Chinese Spring Festival which, reckoned on the first day of the first month on the Chinese lunar calendar, will fall on Feb 17 this year.

The event buzzed with joyful activities. A lively fair featured classic games like beanbag tossing, drawing enthusiastic participation. Food stalls filled the air with the sweet aromas of popcorn, grilled sausages and candied haws, evoking warm holiday memories for many.

Handy services were also a highlight, with volunteers providing free services such as knife sharpening, tailoring and haircuts.

Community workers and volunteers distributed Spring Festival couplets bearing good wishes to participants, and volunteers from the CYL committee of the community offered tips on fraud prevention and explained employment support policies to   residents.
